Garvey Visuals — Cookie Policy
Effective date: 3 October 2026
Last updated: 3 October 2026
Google Analytics 4 was added to the Website on 19 September 2026.
1. About this Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Skopo Solutions Ltd (“we”, “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on https://garveyvisuals.co.uk (the “Website”). Garvey Visuals is a trading name of Skopo Solutions Ltd, and references to “we”, “us” and “our” mean Skopo Solutions Ltd trading as Garvey Visuals (company number 17120131, registered in England and Wales).
It explains:
- what cookies are;
- the types of cookies the Website may use;
- why we use them;
- when consent is required under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (“PECR”);
- how you can manage or delete cookies; and
- how to contact us about cookies.
This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your computer, smartphone, tablet or other device when you visit a website. They allow a website to recognise your device and may store information about your preferences, browsing activity or interaction with the website.
Similar technologies may include local storage, tracking pixels, scripts, tags and other technologies that store or access information on your device. Where relevant, references to “cookies” in this Policy also include these similar technologies.
Cookies may be:
- first-party cookies, which are set by us or on our behalf; or
- third-party cookies, which are set by a third party whose services are used on the Website.
Cookies may also be:
- session cookies, which expire when you close your browser; or
- persistent cookies, which remain on your device for a specified period or until you delete them.
3. Cookies used on the Website
We use a cookie banner on https://garveyvisuals.co.uk which appears at the bottom of the homepage and allows you to “Reject optional” cookies or “Accept optional” cookies. More information is also available in our Cookie Policy at https://garveyvisuals.co.uk/cookie-policy.
Following a source-level audit of the Website on 19 September 2026, the Website sets no cookies from its own code. Where cookies are used on this Website, they are set by third-party analytics providers’ scripts (for example, Google’s own gtag.js script), and only after the visitor has accepted optional cookies.
Analytics is integrated but consent-gated: Garvey Visuals uses Google Analytics 4 and PostHog analytics, and neither initialises, fires, nor sets anything unless the visitor accepts optional cookies. No analytics cookie is set and no measurement request is made before consent.
The Website uses Google Consent Mode. Consent for analytics storage is set to “denied” by default, and advertising storage is never granted. Google Analytics is used for measurement only with no advertising features enabled, and no analytics data is collected before the visitor gives consent. We also note that GA4 does not by default set _gid, and Google Ads cookies such as _gac_*** are not set because no advertising features are enabled.
We also note that the Website’s hosting platform may set its own strictly necessary infrastructure cookies at the edge (for example, for security, load-balancing, or content delivery).
The technologies listed below are the ones identified in the audit:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Source | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| skopo-cookie-consent | localStorage record (not a cookie) | Records whether the visitor accepted or rejected optional cookies (values "accepted" / "rejected") so the site can honour that choice. | The site's own consent script. | Strictly necessary | Persistent, until cleared by the user |
| _ga | cookie | Distinguishes users and stores the client identifier. | Google Analytics 4 (gtag.js). | Analytics — set only with consent | 2 years (Google default) |
| _ga_[container-id] | cookie | Maintains session state for the measurement property. | Google Analytics 4 (gtag.js) (measurement ID G-KSRR6WFFXG). The [container-id] suffix is specific to the property. | Analytics — set only with consent | 2 years (Google default) |
| ph_[project_token]_posthog | cookie and localStorage | Anonymous analytics identifier, session ID and feature-flag state. | PostHog analytics SDK. | Analytics — set only with consent | 365 days |
We will not set or access optional analytics cookies unless we have obtained your consent through the cookie banner. Consent must be given through a clear affirmative action (clicking “Accept optional”). Continuing to browse the Website, closing the banner or failing to change a default setting does not constitute valid consent.
3.3 Marketing, advertising and other non-essential technologies
The Website currently uses no advertising, marketing, tracking or profiling cookies and no other non-essential technologies. If this changes, we will update this Cookie Policy and obtain your consent before any such technology is activated. If a third-party service is embedded in the Website, that third party may set its own cookies or similar technologies and process personal data under its own privacy policy.
4. Consent under PECR
Under PECR, we must not store information on, or access information from, your device using cookies or similar technologies unless:
- you have been provided with clear and comprehensive information about the technology and its purpose; and
- you have given valid consent;
unless a legal exception applies.
Consent is generally not required for cookies that are strictly necessary to:
- transmit a communication over an electronic communications network; or
- provide a service or functionality that you have expressly requested.
Consent is generally required for cookies or similar technologies used for:
- analytics or audience measurement;
- advertising;
- marketing;
- profiling;
- behavioural tracking;
- social media tracking;
- personalisation that is not necessary to provide a requested service; or
- other non-essential purposes.
4.1 How we obtain consent on garveyvisuals.co.uk
We obtain consent for optional cookies via our cookie banner (displayed at the bottom of the homepage) in line with PECR requirements.
- If you click “Accept optional”, we will set optional analytics cookies (and any other optional cookies we use, as described in this Policy).
- If you click “Reject optional”, we will not set optional cookies. In that case, only strictly necessary cookies will be set.
Where consent is required, it must be:
- freely given;
- specific;
- informed;
- unambiguous;
- given through a clear affirmative action; and
- capable of being withdrawn as easily as it was given.
We will not use pre-ticked boxes or rely solely on continued use of the Website as consent.
4.2 Withdrawing consent or changing your choice
You can change your cookie choice at any time using the cookie settings control in the Website footer (a button in the footer of every page). If you withdraw consent for optional analytics cookies, analytics will stop and the analytics identifiers set by both Google Analytics (_ga and _ga_[container-id]) and PostHog (ph_[project_token]_posthog) will be deleted from your device. The record of your choice (the strictly necessary preference record) is retained so the Website can continue to honour your selection, and analytics storage consent state will be set to denied.
5. How to manage cookie consent
Where the Website uses non-essential cookies, a cookie banner, preference centre or other consent mechanism should allow you to:
- accept or reject non-essential cookies;
- select particular categories of cookies;
- obtain information about the purposes of the cookies;
- identify relevant third-party providers; and
- change or withdraw your consent.
You should be able to reject non-essential cookies as easily as you can accept them.
To change your cookie preferences, use the Cookie Settings control on the Website, where available. This is a button in the footer of every page.
If no cookie preference tool is available, contact us using the details in section 8 and we will explain how your preferences can be updated.
6. Managing and deleting cookies through your browser
You can usually manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. You can configure your browser to:
- block all cookies;
- block third-party cookies;
- delete existing cookies;
- alert you when cookies are being set; or
- allow cookies only from selected websites.
The steps vary between browsers. Guidance is available from the relevant browser provider, including:
Blocking or deleting strictly necessary cookies may affect the operation of the Website. Some features may not function correctly, and preferences may not be retained.
Deleting cookies does not necessarily delete other information already collected or processed by us or third parties.
7. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect:
- changes to the cookies or similar technologies used on the Website;
- changes to third-party services;
- changes to the Website or its functionality;
- changes in applicable law or regulatory guidance; or
- changes to our privacy and data-management practices.
The updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Where appropriate, we may also notify you through the Website or by other reasonable means.
We recommend that you review this Policy periodically.
